1. What motivated you to join CrossFit Revival in the first place?
My mom started going to CrossFit and she was already fit, but I noticed her becoming even more
toned and stronger. That inspired me to try it out for myself! At first, I was a little hesitant. I
even refused to take a Day 1 photo because I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d stick with it. But once I
started attending classes, I fell in love with the community, the encouragement, and the positive
atmosphere. I’ve been hooked ever since!
2. How has being part of CrossFit Revival impacted your daily life or routine?
“A body in motion stays in motion.” Starting my mornings with CrossFit Revival sets the tone for
my entire day, it keeps me moving, focused, and full of energy!
3. Since joining CrossFit Revival, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
For the first time in my life, my goals aren’t just about losing weight, they’re about longevity
and quality of life. I used to only work out to change the number on the scale, but now I’m
focused on staying strong and independent as I age.
Coach Holly once posted a photo of two women—one in a wheelchair and one who was fit and
strong with the caption: “Both of these women are 70. Your choices impact your future.” That
really stuck with me. I want to be a strong, capable version of myself for years to come.
CrossFit Revival is helping me invest in my future today.
As for physical accomplishments, I’ve surprised myself! I can now deadlift well over my body
weight, do toes-to-bar, and I’ve significantly reduced my mile time. But what I’m most proud of
is setting goals I never imagined I’d have the focus, desire, or ability to chase. The sky truly is
the limit!
4. What’s something about CrossFit Revival that makes it stand out to you
personally?
The coaching at CrossFit Revival is what really stands out to me. All the coaches do an
amazing job of teaching proper technique and keeping a close eye on form. They’re quick to
correct anything that might lead to injury, which means a lot to me because staying safe and
avoiding things like back injuries is a big priority.
I also really appreciate how Coach Justin connects the movements we do in class to real-life
situations. It helps me understand the “why” behind each workout and makes everything feel
more purposeful.
5. What motivates you to keep showing up, even on hard days?
I’ll be honest, I don’t like working out. I never wake up at 4 a.m. thinking, “I can’t wait to get to
the gym.” But what keeps me coming back is how I feel after the workout. You never regret the
workout you did—only the one you didn’t.
I once asked a friend how she managed to work out during the busiest time in her life, working
50+ hours a week, raising three kids, and pursuing another degree. Her answer stuck with me.
She said, “The gym is my non-negotiable. It’s the only part of my day that’s just for me.”
That really resonated, but I’d take it a step further. Yes, the gym is something I do for myself,
my body, my mental health, and my peace, but the benefits pour over into every other part of my
life. It gives me the strength to carry a heavy load of laundry up the stairs, the energy to be
more active and engaged throughout the day, and the calm to be more present and pleasant
with the people around me.
So, while going to the gym may feel like a selfish act, it actually helps me show up as the best
version of myself. For my family, my friends, and my life.
