1. What motivated you to join CrossFit Revival in the first place?
For about three months, I was doing a sandbag workout program at home. The first two months,
I followed it religiously, five days a week, exactly as programmed. By the third month, I was
still working out five days a week, but I found myself skipping the tougher workouts. The ones I
probably needed most!
Mary Dickey had been encouraging me to come try Bring-a-Friend Week, and with winter
coming, I finally decided to take the opportunity and give a class a shot. From that first workout,
I instantly fell in love with CrossFit Revival.
2. How has being part of CrossFit Revival impacted your daily life or routine?
I was never a morning person, but I’ve really come to love the 6:15 a.m. crew that shows up
every day. There’s nothing quite like starting your morning with a clear mind, a boost of energy
from a great workout, and the confidence of knowing you’ve already tackled the hardest part of
your day.
3. Since joining CrossFit Revival, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
Seeing my time in the gym translate into real-life strength and confidence has been my proudest
accomplishment.
As a funeral director, I was once called to a residence where the daughter of a
family we serve had passed away. She was located at the front of the home, but we had to bring
her out through the back. The hallways were too narrow to maneuver a cot through.
Because of the strength I’ve built, I was able to carry her carefully in my arms out of the home
and into the care of our funeral home.
It meant the world to the family to witness that level of
dignity and care. It’s a moment I will never forget.
4. What makes CrossFit Revival unique for you?
The team and members at CrossFit Revival are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.
Everyone encourages you to push yourself and be your best. The sense of community alone is
what truly makes CrossFit Revival so special to me.
